Fresh Mahi Mahi
Mahi mahi is the Hawaiian name for dolphin fish, which is unrelated to the popular marine mammal. One of the most beautiful fish in the ocean, this fish is similar in flavor to the more expensive swordfish. Although most people associate mahi mahi with Hawaii, it is found in tropical and subtropical waters around the globe. A mahi can reach 50 pounds in size, but 5 pounds is the average market weight.
Product Characteristics: Mahi mahi has a sweet, mild flavor similar to swordfish, with a lean, fairly firm texture. The raw flesh is pinkish to grayish white in color with large moist flakes. The thick skin should be removed before cooking. Great for smoking. Try marinating with Sea Harbor Teriyaki Marinate
